Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
At Nilon Tools (accessible from https://nilontools.com), your privacy is one of our top priorities. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we process, how it is handled, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Client-Side in-Browser Processing (Zero-Transmission Architecture)
The vast majority of utilities on Nilon Tools (including Text Tools, Developer Utilities, Calculators, Design Tools, Security Tools, and Client-Side Converters) execute entirely within your client web browser using JavaScript. The data, text, strings, calculations, and passwords you enter into these tools are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers or stored in any database.
2. Server-Side File Processing & Immediate Deletion
For file-based tools that require server-side conversion libraries (such as PDF Merger, PDF Splitter, Image Compressor, Image Converter, and Spreadsheet Converters):
- Uploaded files are transferred securely over encrypted HTTPS.
- Files are stored temporarily in an isolated server directory solely for the few seconds required to execute the conversion.
- As soon as the converted output is generated and streamed back to your browser, the original upload and the resulting file are immediately and permanently deleted via automated server routines.
- We do not open, inspect, archive, or share your uploaded files with third parties.
3. Information We Collect
- Contact Form Submissions: When you voluntarily submit an inquiry via our Contact Us form, we collect the name, email address, message content, and submission timestamp to review and respond to your inquiry. This information is never used for marketing and is never sold to third parties.
- Security & Abuse Prevention: To protect our servers against automated scraping, denial-of-service attacks, and vulnerability probes, our security gate maintains temporary binary-packed IP records for rate limiting. These temporary records are automatically purged after short operational windows.
- Aggregated Anonymous Analytics: We may record aggregate, non-personally identifiable metrics (such as page views, broad device types, browser families, and referrers) to understand traffic patterns and optimize site performance. We do not track individual users across different days or external websites.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
Nilon Tools uses browser local storage and cookies for essential site functionality:
- Local Storage (
nt-theme,nt-consent,cv_uuid): Used to remember your light/dark theme preference, cookie consent status, and anonymous CV draft identifier locally in your browser. - Essential Session Cookies (
nt_public): A temporary PHP session cookie used strictly to validate CSRF security tokens on form submissions. - Security Cookies (
nt_blk): Temporary security tokens set only when automated scanning or abuse is detected to protect site availability.
For complete details on our cookie usage and instructions on how to manage them, please consult our dedicated Cookie Policy.
5. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising
This website may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and authorized third-party advertising partners. Please note the following regarding third-party advertising:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements to visitors based on their browsing behavior.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or www.youronlinechoices.com.
6. Google Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to gather anonymous aggregate data regarding site usage. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect statistical information such as visitor counts and bounce rates. You can prevent Google Analytics from tracking your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
7. User Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Depending on your location, you may have specific privacy rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the European General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumer Privacy Act):
- Right to Access: You have the right to request copies of any personal information we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification & Erasure: You may request that we correct inaccurate information or delete contact form records.
- Right to Restrict & Object: You have the right to restrict or object to our processing of your personal data.
- No Sale of Personal Data: Nilon Tools does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
8. Data Security
We implement robust technical and organizational security measures, including SSL/TLS HTTPS encryption, Content Security Policies (CSP), strict server file permissions, and anti-abuse gates to protect against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration of data.
9. Children's Privacy
Nilon Tools does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.
