What does error correction actually do?

QR codes embed redundancy so they scan even when partially damaged or obscured: L≈7%, M≈15%, Q≈25%, H≈30% recoverable. Higher levels make denser codes — use H when printing small or adding a logo overlay, M for general use.

Do these QR codes expire or track scans?

No. They are static codes — the content is encoded directly into the pattern, with no redirect service in between. They work forever and involve no tracking. The flip side: the content cannot be changed after printing.

PNG or SVG — which should I download?

SVG for anything printed (business cards, posters, packaging) — it scales to any size with perfectly sharp edges. PNG for screens, documents and quick sharing.

How much text fits in a QR code?

Up to ~1,500 characters here (the format maxes out near 3 KB, but dense codes get hard to scan). For URLs, shorter is better — the simpler the pattern, the faster the scan.
